Is Avatar Seven Havens Renewed for Seasons 3 and 4

Avatar: Seven Havens will continue beyond its initial two books, with Paramount+ committing to Books 3 and 4. The Hollywood Reporter confirmed the two-season renewal alongside the announcement of the separate Avatar Kuruk project.

The news was presented during a New York Comic Con panel attended by Avatar: The Last Airbender co-creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, according to Deadline.

They appeared alongside Seven Havens executive producer Ethan Spaulding and co-executive producer Sehaj Sethi. Voice cast members Saheli Khan, Aishu Devan and Major Curda also participated.

Deadline reported that Janet Varney, the original voice of Korra, moderated the panel. Attendees were given a behind-the-scenes look at the new animated production, including a special script-to-screen clip.

Set within the established world of Avatar: The Last Airbender, Seven Havens centers on a young Earthbender who discovers she is the next Avatar after Korra. The story unfolds in a world damaged by a devastating cataclysm, according to Deadline.

The Hollywood Reporter identified the central character as Pavi, an orphan who has a long-lost twin sister named Nisha. Producers discussed the challenge of introducing these young characters and conveying their personalities through animation.

Deadline said further information about Books 2, 3 and 4 would be released later. Neither outlet's account provided premiere dates for the newly confirmed installments.

When Do New Avatar Seven Havens Episodes Come Out

Avatar: Seven Havens launched on Friday, October 9, with the first three episodes of Book 1, according to Deadline.

The publication provided a release schedule covering the remainder of the first book, with episodes arriving in groups across the following three Fridays.

Episodes four through six are scheduled for October 16, while episodes seven through nine arrive October 23. The final four episodes of Book 1, numbered 10 through 13, are scheduled for October 30.

This release pattern gives the opening book 13 episodes across four dates, according to the schedule published by Deadline.

Details about Book 2 and the two additional renewed books have not yet been announced in the coverage. Deadline stated that further information on all three installments would follow later.

The Hollywood Reporter also described the new series as more serialized than previous Avatar installments, reflecting a deliberate creative direction discussed during the Comic Con presentation.

What Is Avatar Kuruk Wave of Chaos About

Avatar Kuruk: Wave of Chaos is a newly announced animated project centered on a teenage Avatar whose approach to mastering the elements challenges longstanding traditions.

According to Deadline, Kuruk rejects the conventional path of training and instead decides to learn the four elements through adventures around the world.

His travels put him ahead of an angry teacher while bringing him into encounters with rowdy pirates and chaotic spirits. The series follows him as he attempts to help the world in his own distinctive way.

The Hollywood Reporter described Kuruk as 14 years old and said the story takes place during a period of peace. It also identified Wave of Chaos as the Avatar universe's first action comedy.

Deadline reported that the new project is produced by Avatar Studios and Nickelodeon Animation Studios. Avatar co-creator Bryan Konietzko will serve as showrunner.

The Hollywood Reporter said the announcement represented the first official confirmation of the series, which Knight Edge Media had previously reported on during the summer.

Although the outlets provided the premise, lead character's age and production details, neither gave a premiere date for Wave of Chaos.

What Did the Avatar Creators Reveal at New York Comic Con

The Seven Havens creative team used the New York Comic Con panel to discuss how the latest installment expands the franchise's storytelling and visual identity, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The publication said the team had deliberately pursued an old-school 1970s anime aesthetic. The series was also designed to feature stronger serialization than earlier entries in the Avatar universe.

Konietzko described the project as an opportunity to explore new territory while developing ideas with roots in the original Avatar production.

"Some ideas are really old ideas from the Avatar days that wove their way into this," Konietzko said, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Sethi emphasized that the creative team wanted the new installment to develop the franchise rather than merely revisit what audiences had seen before.

"It was really exciting to me that we weren't just repeating… we were going to tell a whole new story," Sethi said, as quoted by The Hollywood Reporter.

She also described an approach built around moral complexity and competing perspectives. Rather than presenting characters in purely good or evil terms, the creative team wanted audiences to understand conflicting motivations.

"There are no villains in the story. There are protagonists and antagonists," Sethi told the publication.

The panel also explored the animation of Pavi and Nisha. Producers worked with storyboard artists and directors to emphasize the young Avatar's expressions and preserve a sense of her age.

How Avatar Seven Havens Expands Representation and Other Projects

The Hollywood Reporter said the Comic Con discussion included Southeast Asian and LGBTQ+ representation within the new installment.

Voice actor Major Curda spoke about a canon gay relationship involving Jae and Datu, a character voiced by Topher Ngo.

"It's just such a wonderful exemplification of love is love," Curda said, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The publication also reported several projects expanding the Avatar universe beyond the two television announcements.

An Avatar: Seven Havens podcast is being developed to feature conversations with cast members and creators. Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game is also receiving Seven Havens content.

The game's announced additions include character colorways inspired by Seven Havens and Sonam's temple stage, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

An artbook and novelization connected to the Avatar Aang film are scheduled for release on November 10. The publication also mentioned upcoming music and books tied to the franchise.

One of those projects is The Long Game, a new Legend of Korra book exploring the origins of the Red Lotus.

Together, the announcements establish a broader slate of television, publishing, gaming and audio projects around the Avatar world. Deadline and The Hollywood Reporter gave dates for the Seven Havens episodes and the November books, but neither reported release dates for every newly described project.
